FAQ

What does Ignition actually do?

We design and help launch translational research programs that turn proteomic and multi-omic signals into actionable diagnostics and therapeutics. From biobank-scale study design to downstream buildout, we operate as co-developers, whether you’re starting from raw signal or a promising target/biomarker candidate.

Who do you typically work with?

We partner with academic labs, health systems, startups, and biopharma teams pursuing breakthrough diagnostics or population-scale studies. Most of our collaborators bring a powerful dataset, novel insight, or disruptive tech platform, and need strategic firepower to move it forward.

How do your projects typically work?

We offer a flexible tiered structure: Spark (early-stage framing + landscape), Signal (co-development + validation), and Surge (full buildout, IP strategy, and team formation). Engagements can run from weeks to months depending on the tier.

Do you take ownership or help spin out new ventures?

We do both - depending on the fit. For aligned opportunities, we act as incubators or co-founders: shaping IP strategy, assembling teams, and helping attract early investment. If you're sitting on a valuable signal but need infrastructure to translate it, we’re built for that.

Are you a consultancy or a biotech company?

For now, we operate as a consultancy / advisory. However, as Ignition evolves, and with the right funding partners, we may grow into a full-stack company. Stay tuned!
